The mission of RW Wealth Management Group is to provide a holistic, strategic approach to managing your financial life so your plan is appropriate for the various stages of your life. This has been Rosalyn Baker’s approach throughout her 35 years as a financial services professional. By developing long-term, intimate relationships with clients, she has helped them enhance and protect their wealth even during challenging markets and life transitions.
Rosalyn believes that education is essential when it comes to understanding the rationale for specific recommendations and to maintaining a disciplined approach to the financial plan. She uses a simple technique to explain both the fundamental questions that need to be answered in order to create the plan, and the decisions about assets used in the portfolio.
When visiting with prospective clients, once Rosalyn has gotten an overview of their current finances, she explains that the fundamental questions about their financial future are like the fingers on her hand:
- What do you want to accomplish?
- What is your timeline?
- What is your situation in terms of children and elderly parents?
- When do you want to retire?
- Do you have your affairs in order (i.e., do you have a will, etc.)?
These five questions are easy to understand and remember, and they help clients clarify their goals and establish priorities. The answers form the foundation of the financial plan.
When it comes to discussing investments, Rosalyn returns to the hand, explaining that there are five elements to consider:
- Cash and liquidity
- Fixed income
- Real estate
- Other investments
It’s simple, really. Two hands, ten fingers and a manageable way for clients to understand the approach to their financial well-being.
